Ingredients

Burger Patty:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for maximum juiciness)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Sweet & Tangy Burger Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 tbsp sweet relish
  • 1 tsp honey Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

Make the Sauce:

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayo, ketchup, sweet relish, honey Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, and salt. Set aside to let the flavors meld.

Prepare the Patties:

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper and breadcrumbs. Gently mix until just combined—avoid over-mixing to keep the burgers tender.

Shape the Patties:

Divide the mixture into 3-4 equal portions and shape them into patties about ¾-inch thick.

Cook the Burgers:

  2. 2Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Add your cheese and cover the skillet for the cheese to melt. Remove from heat and allow the patties to rest for a few minutes to helps retain its juices. This results in a juicier, more flavorful burger.

  4. 4Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side.
